Dr. Clay Hunter

Associate Superintendent, Gwinnett County Public Schools

For the past 25 years, Dr. Hunter has served as a teacher and administrator in districts across the state and nation. Over this time, he has earned a reputation for developing and nurturing district leaders, local school leaders, teachers, and students through a commitment to mentoring and coaching. 

Dr. Hunter served as the principal of Susan Stripling Elementary School and South Gwinnett High School. During his tenure at South Gwinnett, he received the 2011 PTSA of Georgia Outstanding Principal of the Year Award. 

He currently serves Gwinnett County Public Schools as the associate superintendent of curriculum and instructional support. 

Dr. Hunter is an alumnus of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended graduate school at the University of Georgia and Clark Atlanta University. He is also a graduate of the New York City Leadership Academy Principal Supervisor Program and the Superintendent Preparation Academy (SUPES).
