Objective 2.1 – Increase access to stable and affordable housing options

Strategy 2.1-1Increase access and availability for affordable housing options and emergency and transitional housing.

 

  • – Create and implement a Strategic homeless plan to address homeless housing by 2021
  • – Complete two Point in time homeless counts by the end 2021
  • – Develop and implement a Coordinated Entry System for homeless in Gwinnett County.
  • – Provide monthly updates of information on housing resources at Emergency Assistance Action Team meetings.
  • – Hold one homeless awareness event – Not My Roof – per calendar year.

Objective 2.2 – Increase access to community resources that promote social and financial stability

Strategy 2.2-1Increase access to information and resources for individuals and families in need.

 

  • – Promote Gwinnett Helpline via social media, events and with new partner agencies and continue to use social media for information dissemination within the community
  • – Maintain and add at least 25 new agencies per year to the Helpline database
  • – Distribute Helpline cards to 25 new agencies/organizations per year.
  •  Annually promote the Gwinnett Coalition, Gwinnett Helpline, and Gwinnett Exchange.
  • – Collect annual stats on the distribution of emergency assistance resources (food, EFSP, emergency food and shelter programs) from partner agencies.

Strategy 2.3-1Increase access and awareness of meal programs and supplemental food resources.

 

  • – Annually promote food donation, distribution, and fundraising opportunities.
  • – Establish 2 meal preparation programs that can include soup kitchens, food truck and/or food pantries by 2021.
  • – Annually Increase awareness and the number of participating community gardens.
  • – Conduct summer/holiday feeding program data collection.

Objective 2.4 – Engaging the community in leadership and volunteer opportunities

Strategy 2.4-1Increase availability of youth and family friendly volunteer opportunities in the community.

 

  • 1. Establish a (1) Gwinnett Corporate Volunteer Council made up of 12 members, annually increasing membership by 20%.
  • – Annually coordinate a minimum of 24 customized corporate volunteer projects.
  • – Broaden GDOS by executing two additional community-wide days of service annually.
  • – Annually survey and report results of business and faith-based communities regarding volunteer engagement efforts and report findings to the community.
  • – Create an online portal for promoting community-wide volunteer opportunities by 2021.
  • – Collaborate with agencies to encourage youth involvement in the community and civic engagement.
  • – Annually identify service-learning opportunities for youth and young adults through the non-profit network, Youth Advisory Board, and college internships.
  • – Explore and report on current volunteer opportunities in the County.
  • – Annually facilitate 12 CEO Roundtable discussions, annually increasing member by 15%.
